Gappers have 4/5 hours of down time every day, to allow for independent exploring and/or rest. Spanish is taught & learned in interactive classes and on the go, through experiential activities and immersion: doing the shopping in local markets, leading train journey planning at train stations, on-task during the above-mentioned workshops, language exchanges with peers etc. The first week and during 1-week trips, accommodation is residential for team building purposes, while in base cities, gappers experience Spanish homestays.
