BroadFutures serves young people who:
- Interns must be between the ages of 18 and 26 to participate in our program.
- Interns must have a documented learning disability or ADHD or autism.
- Interns must possess a high school diploma and have the cognitive ability to continue onto postsecondary education.
- Interns must be vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Interns must be highly motivated.
Program Details:
- Initial Training: 1 week of training. Curriculum incorporates workforce preparedness, professionalism and effective communication, and stress reduction tools. We incorporate the arts and mindfulness/yoga.
- Paid Internships:
7 - 10 weeks of paid internships
20 hours a week, Monday through Thursday
- Friday Trainings: Reinforce skills learned in initial training & discuss areas of success and opportunities for effective performance and growth.
Winter Program is typically 12 weeks and Summer Program is 9 weeks.

In addition to gaining important and relevant workplace skills, we base our curriculum on four overarching outcomes: communication, resilience, independence and self-confidence. We measure growth in these four areas throughout the program based on self-evaluations as well as those of staff and employers. We additionally expect participants to gain a more robust sense of self and ability to understand where one's strengths and passions are, as well as areas of needed support. We have an over 90% success rate for young people being able to return to educational or workplace pursuits after participating in our program. We additionally have a 95% satisfaction rate for our interns and their families at the excellent or very good level and a 100% from our employer partners.

Staff Training and Certification
Our staff come from diverse backgrounds and educational experiences. All permanent staff hold at least a bachelor's level of education, and many hold graduate degrees and certifications including J.D. degrees, masters in hearing & speech, career counseling, fine arts and community outreach, and certifications in executive non-profit management, speech language pathology, coaching, training, career counseling, and yoga. Our staff engages in ongoing professional development. Our mentoring staff, in addition to undergoing an initial mentor training, receive weekly ongoing mentoring and coaching training.
