Program Details

  • Program Starts: Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer
  • Program Duration: Less than 2 months, Semester, Yearlong
  • Typical Program Cost: Varies by site and program type
  • Program Financial Aid: No
  • Other Financial Aid Details:

API accepts all forms of financial aid according to approval from the home university or organization. However, API does not issue or offer financial aid.

Once proof of financial aid is provided in the submission of a completed FAVF form, API then adjusts a student’s payment schedule based on disbursement dates of financial aid awards. This FAVF form acts as a deferral for any final payment amount covered by the financial aid. This form must be submitted by the date of the original final payment deadline.

API awards approximately $500,000 in study abroad scholarships annually ranging from $250 -$1,000 per student.

Staff Training and Certification

Official recognition by The Forum on Education Abroad’s Quality Improvement Program for Education Abroad (QUIP) in 2018.

In all locations, API has highly qualified, trained, and experienced English-speaking Resident Directors/Coordinators who are available to students throughout their session abroad. Most Resident Directors/Coordinators are locals from the host country in which students will be studying, and all are ready to provide practical information and insight into the host culture. Resident Directors/Coordinators greet students at the airport, introduce students to the ways of life in their host country, help students to register at the host institution, and support students throughout their stay. They are also available in case of any personal emergency and are ready to implement the API emergency response plans if needed.
