Professional development opportunities
for gap year programs and counselors
Online certification course: $170 for GYA members, $220 for non-members
The Gap Year Association hosts two annual institutes for professionals in the gap year space and related fields: the Standards Institute and Counselors Institute. These online credentialing workshops are designed to help professionals better understand GYA’s Official Standards of Accreditation for gap year education and best practices in gap year advising, respectively. The Spring 2024 course will be offered in 10 hours over 3 days in April: 12:00-3:30 p.m. Eastern on Monday 4/15 & Tuesday 4/16, and 12:00-3:00 p.m. Eastern on Thursday 4/18 **Registration for April 2024 is now closed**

GYA offers an annual opportunity for GYA members to connect virtually in order to receive updates on the organization’s progress towards its mission and strategic goals, to participate in relevant board elections, and to attend a selection of member-run sessions on timely topics within the gap year field.
Attendance at the summit is reserved for GYA members, and registration is free. If you are not a current GYA member, we invite you to start a membership and get to know the GYA community!
The annual Gap Year Conference is a great opportunity for professionals in/adjacent to the gap year field to network and connect around topics most relevant to their work. Occurring in a different location every year, the conference welcomes all gap year and experiential learning advocates who are interested in connecting with others passionate about expanding the gap year movement.
