About

MISSION:

To be GYA’s primary resource for higher education institutions to both learn about the benefits of intentional gap years and to develop and implement impactful, student-centered gap year policies and initiatives.

Goals for 2023

In partnership with Membership Committee and Research Committee, develop a one-page PDF that can support HE conversations about the benefits of gap-year friendliness and GYA membership.
Make connection with regional higher ed commissions and/or organizations for credit for prior learning to further discourse around best practices to support gap year students.
Continue to develop resources for gap year students navigating higher ed spaces before and/or after a gap year experience.
