About
The GYA Alumni Committee was created in an effort to:
- Connect people of all ages and backgrounds who have had meaningful gap year experiences
- Foster a spirit of alumni stewardship within the gap year movement
- Share acquired insight and wisdom among alumni members, and develop ways of serving future gap year alumni.
Goals:
- Continue to foster a welcoming and collaborative community for current and former gap year students.
- Provide direct feedback for the evolving GYA student engagement strategy.
- Create a streamlined process for connecting educators, consultants, and press with gap year student / alum speakers that represent a variety of backgrounds and gap year experiences.

RESOURCES
Transitions to & From Gap Year Experiences
In this 2021 GYA Deeper Dialogue, Robin Pendoley explores ways to navigate transitions between life experiences, including routines that support mental health.
GYAAC has been active in connecting gap year alums with opportunities to share their story with the world through gap year panels and the Voices Project / Voices Project LIVE!
Check out the GYA Blog’s Voices Project Category to read and hear from 20 voices about the benefits and growth-inspiring challenges of taking a gap year!
We also hosted a reflection and debrief session for independent gappers to come together virtually in late spring 2020.
